FAS International Agricultural Fellowship Program

If you have ever considered a career serving the United States’ interests abroad, the FAS International Agricultural Fellowship Program (IAFP) offers a truly unique opportunity to impact the world.  Upon successful completion of a two-year master’s degree program in Agribusiness or Agricultural Economic and fulfillment of USDA Foreign Agricultural Service Foreign (FAS) Service entry requirements including the FAS oral assessment and entering FAS as a Foreign Service Trainee (FST), fellows have the opportunity to work as FAS Foreign Service Officers, serving in Washington, DC, or at a U.S. embassy around the globe.

The IAFP program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in USDA and those with financial need. It is open to students and alumni of all universities and with any major.  Based on the fundamental principle that diversity is a strength in U.S. engagement with the world, the program values candidates representing a wide range of backgrounds, including ethnic, racial, social, and geographic diversity.

Howard University administers the FAS International Agricultural Fellowship Program on behalf of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service.
